Aran Ornaments Pattern

The crisp scent of pine needles, fluffy snowflakes falling outside, sitting in front the of the fire curled up in a cozy, cabled sweater….my idea of a perfect holiday.  This week’s pattern–a trio of sweater-inspired Christmas ornaments–reminds me of a real Northern Christmas.  One features three classic cables, another highlights a slipped stitch pattern and the third is simple stockinette.  Stuffed with wool roving, a bit of lavender and hanging by an ecru satin ribbon secured with a tiny button, these ornaments double as fragrant sachets when you take the tree down in January.

To complete this pattern, you will need approximately 110 yds of worsted weight yarn, a set of a set of US 7 (4.5 mm) double-pointed needles, ribbon and three 1/4″ buttons (optional).
