Worked top-down into a symmetrical triangle, Bao Bao flows effortlessly from your needles, guided by the addictive, rhythmic texture first introduced by Isabell Kraemer in her beloved Heimathafen design. Help every Saturday: We’ll be dedicating our Saturday morning Open Stitch Zoom gatherings to the Bao Bao Shawl KAL May 23rd-June 20th. We’ll be here to chat in real time, help you if you get in a rut or offer insights into navigating the pattern–but primarily it’ll be a chance for us to motivate each other.

“Using the dip stitch stripe pattern “all over” creates this super cute retro look.

Starting with a garter tab cast on, stitches are increased every RS row at both edges and at the center of the shawl. Color changes are worked every 4 rows. The cute and easy dip stitch pattern could be worked with many colors for a playful result or with 3-4 colors for a more sophisticated and sportive look.”

70” (178 cm) wingspan, 28” (71 cm) deep at center.

Yarn:
Tibetan Cloud Sport/Light DK (100% Tibetan sheep wool; 328 yds–100 g); 4 skeins

Needles:
US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, 40” (100 cm) long.
(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge.)

Gauge:
20 sts x 36 rows = 4” (10 cm) square in dip stitch stripe pattern after blocking.
