We are thrilled to announce the October’s installment of the Sleeping Bear Yarn Club: Rainbow Trout. Dyed for us by the one and only Aimee of La Bien Aimee and her amazing crew in Paris, France. This skein duo flashes with the same wild light as its namesake. Grellow reflecting the bright sun bouncing off the silt below, illuminating gray scales so to look purple from above. Along the belly runs a soft pink you can catch a glimpse of when a trout turns in the current. It feels like teetering over the stream’s edge-stretching, and spying on these beautiful creatures just before they slip back into shadow.

Dyed in small batches, each skein holds that fleeting moment of Michigan waters in motion. Perfect for socks that carry a story, a shawl alive with shifting tones, or mitts that keep a trace of summer light through winter. This colorway has been on the works for over a year now with La Bien. With international shipping the way it is now-we don’t know if we’ll be able to order more.
