Clara’s Slippers Pattern

Warm toes, warm heart–that’s the saying, isn’t it?

While perhaps you’ve never been a dancer, these little slippers might just make you feel like a prima ballerina. They’ve got a traditional sock heel flap and a strap to help keep them on, but they just barely skim the ankle, which makes them feel feminine and precious at the same time. And of course, they’re a vibrant, lipstick red–the grown up version of pretty pink.

Knit from a worsted weight yarn at a firm gauge, these sweet slippers take just a few evenings to stitch; in my mind, I’ve got a basket full of pairs next to the door, waiting to welcome winter house guests.

These ballet slippers are named after Clara, the little girl from the Christmas classic, “The Nutcracker.”

This pattern is written to fit an average woman’s foot–between US 5-10. There’s plenty of stretch in the yarn, and modifications can easily be done to get the exact fit you want.
