A Golden Cup Pattern

If asked directly, we’d be hard-pressed to name the very best part about Autumn. (Because every part is so good, of course.) Is it the golden, dappled light? The layers (upon layers!) of wool? The spicy mingle of crumbling leaves and woodsmoke hanging in the air? One of the finer points of the season, to be sure, is the nightly ritual that involves a steaming, fragrant cup of tea. (Sometimes more than one.) A little trick? Brew yourself a pot, slip this sweet ‘sweater’ over the top and keep knitting, knowing you’ve got another hot cuppa waiting for you in the wings.

This tea cozy is paired down to the basics–a 1 x 1 rib–but makes an ideal project for someone wanting to learn to knit in the round for the first time. A great wedding or housewarming present, the tweedy palette is perfect for either a modern kitchen or one in an old farmhouse…and the pom pom is just plain fun. (Feel free to leave it off for the more, ahem, serious recipient.)

This size cozy will fit an average 4-6 cup pot.
