Mishe-Mokwa is the August 2024 installment of the Sleeping Bear Yarn Club. Dyed exclusively for us by the talented Ariel Bishop of AJHC Wools in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. This colorway is a teal leaning blue with splashes of rich color and a depth from the yaks dark fibers. It has a sheen just like the reflections off the water. Mishe-Mokwa is our Mother of the Sleeping Bears (legend passed on by the Anishinaabe Nation). The Leland ferry carries her name as it finishes her journey to and from her cubs. We envision Mishe-Mokwa lying patiently on the beach with her big eyes watching the endless horizon of blues.
