North Bar was our July 2019 feature for the Sleeping Bear Yarn Club. Dyed exclusively for us by Samantha of Lavender Lune Yarn in northern Minnesota, this watery skein is like an impressionist painting, with beautiful aquamarine, beach glass and mineral blue all tumbling into each other, sprinkled with deeper flecks of deep navy.

80% superwash Merino wool, 20% nylon

North Bar Lake, just outside the town of Empire, is one of the most popular beaches in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore because it has shallow, clear water over a sandy bottom and makes for a warmer swim than in Lake Michigan. But for those who like the refreshing cool water and wave action of the Big Water, you can walk across the low dunes that separate the two lakes in mere minutes. We spent many summer days at North Bar as a family while we were growing up.

Machine/hand wash cool, lay flat to dry for your piece’s longest life.
