We are thrilled to announce the June installment of the Sleeping Bear Yarn Club: Yooperlite. Dyed for us by the talented Hannah of Circus Tonic Handmades in Australia. This colorway is a charcoal rich shade of night with a glowing deep orange mini. This tweed has a secret hidden in plain sight – it’s fluorescent! Yooperlite, as it’s best known to us, is a fluorescent sodalite stone here in Michigan and primarily found in the Upper Peninsula. BUT, they have been found here in our area. Some have been found by Pointe Betsy and even some on Van’s Beach. Now, we haven’t found Yooperlite ourselves on our local beach’s nor have we given it the old college try. We are eager to do some night rock hunting and we’ll share our spoils when it happens. And you too – keep us posted when you find this elusive glowing stone on this side of the bridge.​
