Wintergreen Slipper Socks Pattern

What seems cozier than padding around the house together on Christmas morning than a hot cup of coffee (or tea!) in one hand, a croissant in another, a wool sweater slipped over your nightgown and a thick, cushy pair of handknit socks on your feet? This isn’t the first time we’ve designed worsted weight socks, but rather an updated version of our Fireside Slipper Socks–although we think it’s even better. We’ve taken suggestions under advisement and here’s what we’ve come up with: a much longer cuff and a reverse-stockinette top-of-foot for both comfort and ease of execution. These socks will fly off your needles, which means knitting a pair for everyone in your house–and starting a new family tradition–might not be a far-flung idea after all. The speckles make a fun addition to this version–sweet, bright and happy, like blinking Christmas lights or peppermint stick ice cream.

This pattern is written to fit an average woman’s foot–between US 5-10. There’s plenty of stretch in the yarn, and modifications can easily be done to get the exact fit you want.
