Aventurine’s claim to fame is having inclusions that look like sparkles.  Aventurine gets its name from the Italian “a ventura”, meaning “by mistake” as synthetic aventurine was discovered by accident when some copper fell into a vat of molten glass.  Natural Peach Aventurine, a variety of translucent quartz, derives its color from minor inclusions of oxidized iron.
