Beach Open Stitch

There’s something sacred about fire on the sand. Wool in your lap. Laughter echoing over the dunes. Come sit with us.

Thursday's 6-8 pm
Good Harbor Bay

(previously Bohemian Beach)

A crackling fire, warm sunsets, rock finding, soul rejuvenating, a swim even . . . It's a wonderous setting to be stitchin'. Perhaps the perfect intersection of our favorite things: community, yarn and the beach. We’ll gather and stitch together at the shoreline every Thursday until we all agree it's too cold (who will cry Uncle first!), canceled if raining or extreme weather. We hope you come every week or pop in whenever you are in town. It's a standing date!

We'll be meeting at what locals call 'Bad Harbor'‑‑the end of County Road 669/Bohemian Road. We won't be far from the beach path.

(Please note: you will need a National Park pass for the beach, which you can obtain on site for the day at the self-pay fee canister, or at the Visitors Center in Empire.)

My other half, Bec and I after Beach Stitching 2024

Bring your suits (if you dare!) I'm aiming to jump in at the end of each stitching. It's an open invitation to be uncomfortable with me‑‑vulnerable in a swimsuit and jumping in the shocking cold. Also, feel free to just stay warm. There is never any pressure to get wet.
