We’re a little bit obsessed with hand-painted laceweight silk mohair right now. And speckled yarn. Okay, a LOT obsessed. It’s just so gorgeous! But what about if you’re not a sock knitter? Or a shawl knitter? Or really aren’t crazy about knitting on those tiny needles?
Enter Mad’s Hat. Holding two strands of speckled sock yarn together with one strand of laceweight mohair to get a worsted weight gauge, the knit fabric created from these yarns stranded together–not to mention the colors!–is out of this world. Worked in a simple-to-knit honeycomb pattern and topped with a 4-inch funky, faux-fur pom pom and you’ve got an amazing, quick-to-knit gift.
