Shoreline Tapestry Kit
Lake Michigan. The Fresh Coast. Mishigami. The Big Water. Regardless your name for it, there’s no denying the magic of Big Blue. Its sparkling waters offer solace, inspiration, refuge; it’s Home. We’re constantly drawn to its magnificence and while we can’t always be in its company, we carry a tiny part of its magic in our soul. What better inspiration, then, for a landscape tapestry than our greatest Muse? With a few hours, a bit of instruction and yarn in our favorite color palette, you can create a woven wall hanging reminiscent of our favorite Great Lake.
Tapestry weaving–especially this one, woven with a super bulky yarn–truly is a weekend project. We’ve provided a closeup photo as a guideline for yarn placement, but do feel free to create a masterpiece of your own. Inspired by the natural gradients created by Lake Michigan, these soothing colors all work so well together; there is enough yarn here to create multiple tapestries in new variations on a theme.
This kit includes the yarn and fiber necessary to create this tapestry: partial skeins of Quince & Co. Puffin in six colors, as well as yarn for the warp (Quince & Co. Finch in Canvas), white roving for the clouds and a piece of Lake Michigan driftwood for the hanger.
The Learn-to-Weave Pop-Out Loom is sold separately and can be found HERE.
