A note about the pattern from the designer, Carrie Bostick Hoge…
“I have always loved buttons. My grandmother passed down a wonderful framed collection that I treasure. She also left us with tins of assorted vintage buttons. This cardigan is called Canvas as I tend to like a blank slate if I want to showcase some interesting buttons. The buttons show on the samples in this issue are all handmade–wood, yarn covered rings, and ceramic. Also, embroidery would be pretty on this cardigan, too! Tif Fussell’s wooly tattooing perhaps? Embellish away….”

301 yds [275 m]–100g
Spun from the finest commercially-available American extra-fine merino wool, Phoebe is unbelievably soft and luxurious to knit with, creating the most satisfying fabric—silky, bouncy, decadent stuff. Perfect in stockinette stitch, ribbing, twisted stitches, and cables.
Phoebe comes in a tonal-dyed palette of nine colors, each one unique and ranging in variegation from skein to skein. To minimize pooling in variegated yarns, we recommend alternating skeins throughout your project; we’ll always do our best to match skeins in your order whenever possible.
The Canvas Cardigan Kit (Adult) includes 3-6 skeins of Phoebe in Neptune or Uranus (choose your size + color from the menu below, the number of skeins included in your kit will correspond to your size) and a copy of Making Magazine, No. 3 Dots.
